Why One Can Need Towing

a17It is inevitable that an automobile will run into issues, a car has a multitude of parts and at some point one of them will falter, causing your car to stop in its tracks. Cars, while sturdy things, are not meant to be immortal, they suffer and sometimes they die, and when they do it can pose a major inconvenience for you. While regular trips to the workshop can save you a great deal of trouble, at one time or another your car will break down and when it does you’ll need to get it towed. Here are the most common reasons why cars become incapacitated and ultimately need towing.

The Car’s Battery Dies

It happens with a lot of people, they come back merrily to the parking lot after a day of shopping or hanging out with friends. They turn the key in the ignition, the car splutters; they try again, it splutters again but does not start. It won’t start no matter how many times you twist the key. A good guess in such a scenario is that your car’s battery has died. If you haven’t got jumper cables in your car, call a towing company – they’ll bring jumper cables along in the event they can start it otherwise they’ll take it back to a shop to get the battery replaced.

It’s a basic rule of driving but many people ignore it anyway; the rule is that you always need to keep an eye on the temperature gauge next to the speedometer. It can mean the difference between a well running car and one that stalls. This is especially crucial in the summer when temperatures soar and your engine gets really hot. Keep an eye on the gauge and the moment it begins creeping near the HOT territory, immediately stop your vehicle and let it cool down. If you don’t it’ll overheat and you’ll need to get your car towed.

Faulty Alternator

A faulty alternator has many signs that tell you it is failing. Learn to read those and you’ll avoid a lot of hassle by getting it fixed when it needs to be done. For example, you may hear strange noises and detect weird aromas. There can also be a random dimming of your headlights – a big sign that the alternator can be failing. Since the alternator provides life to the battery, if the former fails, the latter dies and you’ll need to get the car towed.

Car Accident

The number one reason for the majority of vehicles getting towed are accidents. While cars are safer than ever, the roads remain dangerous and we see accidents virtually each day. And in many accidents the car becomes immobile so you’ll have to call in the towing services.
